Brother

We started so far apart
in age, in ideals,
in blood.

We fought our childish
battles, disturbing
the peace our parents brought.

We came from different
worlds, and were treated differently
I was their brother.
You were there son.

We noticed teh difference
only a year ago.
After my wedding.
Even then you knew.

Time has warped us
into two halves
of the same being.
We look and sound alike.

Our ideals are merging
as we get closer.
Our brotherly love
is growing stronger.

I thank you
my brother,
for helping me
through this.

I see now how
you have grown.
So much like me.
Please don't become me.

Learn my teachings,
avoid my past
find your own path
and call if you need me.

I will always be there,
dear brother.
In peace, in war,
and all other times.

We now share the same blood.
